Be resourceful, know how to get information; problem solving skills; a sense of responsibility for civic engagement; be well rounded; have cultural experiences; well roundedness; sense of personal responsibility; to understand consequences; moral preparation (instilling ethics); deal with day to day issues; critical skill development; employers say students cannot communicate in writing; technology driven; technological literacy and information literacy; leadership skills; well rounded like you have an education; can we do all of this?; core class that developed critical communication and researching skills; they don’t know what to expect; how to supersede failure

Need to have enough basic knowledge to participate in voting and economics decisions; participate in society; know that is permissible to question; not always take things at face value; be broad-minded; make their community a better place; think critically and integrate information; carry on an intellectual conversation with someone; being able to grapple with a world of ideas; need to be able to intellectually and logically communicate their ideas (orally and in writing); ability to understand other people’s viewpoints, even if you don’t agree; not what to think, but how to think, respect for others; need to be able to respond and process the response to others; understanding of science and technology, religion and culture; Results: mental explosion that broadens you to a world that you’ve never experienced; question your own beliefs so you understand why you believe what you do; realization that there is a wealth of ideas in this world; world of ideas; critical evaluation of the current process.

Should be independent thinkers, have a sense of personal responsibility, critical thinkers, confident, communicate well in written, spoken, and digital, have a thirst for life-long learning, able to research and thereby continue to learn, be respectful, tolerant, and appreciative, have a strong foundational content base for chosen career, be flexible and adaptable, understand postmodern thought, be ethical in decision-making, passionate for something, adopt these values, yet mingle with those of differing values, self-reflective.

Find info on own, analyze situations/problems, understand issues, be thinking human being, be a member of the society of the future, solve social problems, have background knowledge, how tech has developed, info literacy skills, analytical skills to evaluate knowledge, be able to share knowledge, understanding of history, civ, sci, etc., critical thought as key, swim in the sea of knowledge, able to contribute to society, able to embrace change, flexibility, wanting to know, establishing a basic foundation.
